West High is the main rival of East High. This school's mascot is the Knights. This school has a basketball team and a scholastic decathalon team.
The first Trilogy
The Knights had knocked the Wildcats out of the playoffs for three years before High School Musical, and presumably had a wonderful high school basketball team. However, over the next two years, the West High Knights suffered two back to back heartbreakers, where both times last second shots by Troy Bolton and Jimmy "Rocket man" doomed them at the last second. Otherwise, West High is not mentioned at all in High School Musical 2.
